OCEAN CITY, MD., April 10, 2006—
The
Fenwick Inn, located in north Ocean City at 138th Street and Coastal
Highway, announced today the grand opening of the Indoor Aqua Fun
Center, transforming the landmark resort into a year-round destination.
The new indoor water experience, targeted for both kids and adults, is
the final stage of a major make-over of the hotel, which includes a
complete renovation of all guest rooms, as well as a total
modernization of the property's exterior and landscaping.
The Aqua Fun Center provides a unique water experience, not just a dip
in an indoor pool. After demolishing the previous pool area, architects
created a new-concept water area, including a new pool extending into
an ankle-deep "sprayground area," highlighted by three lemon drops with
a water spray feature ideal for small children. The center of the water
area features a large raindrop with a continuous cascade of water.
Two eight-foot-long, hydro-therapy benches complement the main water
area. A raised jet spa with room for up to 12 people offers a soothing
waterfall feature as it blends with the main water area. Custom murals
accent the look and feel of the Indoor Aqua Fun Center, which is topped
off with a new skylight roof system that brings in sunlight and sky.
"We wanted to deliver well beyond the typical Ocean City experience,
and believe the new Aqua Fun Center, combined with our totally
refurbished, over-sized rooms now set the Fenwick Inn apart from other
resorts in the area," commented Greg Fleming, general manager. "We now
are a year-round destination." Fleming noted that the hotel will
continue to offer one of the best values in the market. "We have always
offered a great price-value, which will not change," he noted. "We have
a special grand opening rate as low as $29 a night through April 15th
mid-week, and we will offer a limited number of special $99-a-night
packages for the summer season."
The Fenwick Inn
features 201 family-sized guest rooms, typically 15 percent larger than
an average hotel room, and includes microwave ovens and refrigerators.
Jordan's Rooftop Restaurant, one of the city's popular eateries, offers
American-style cuisine and live entertainment. In the spring and fall,
Jordan's provides a "Kids Eat Free" program for Fenwick Inn guests.
The Fenwick Inn is managed by Marshall Management, Inc. based in
